Christine Hillis
I have built my life around the ideology that you should ‘become who you needed when you were younger’. That is why I have dedicated my life to providing others with a safe place to develop the ability to manage their well-being in a healthier way.
My name is Christine Hillis and I am a registered MSW with more than 11 years of experience working in the mental health field. My passion in life is working with individuals who may be struggling with grief and/or trauma. Our previous life experiences impact us more than we may realise. It is through my own experiences and education that I wrote my book Seeing Through the Label, and decided to branch out and start my own practice.
My approach is based in narrative therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I believe that together we can create a new story about our lives and have a better understanding of ourselves. I also believe in the power of healing some of our younger and more vulnerable parts to live a more beautiful and unburdened way.
Throughout my education, I dedicated my research to helping others accommodate losses and trauma in their lives, and have assisted many clients in working through traumatic, complicated, anticipatory, or disenfranchised grief, as well as many other experiences of trauma bot individually and relationally.
